Strickland Statement on Anniversary of Obergefell v. Hodges

Statement

Ted Strickland released the following statement in recognition of the one year anniversary of the Obergefell v. Hodges Supreme Court decision which made same-sex marriage legal across the United States.

"One year ago today this country recognized that love is love and legalized marriage equality to further break down some of the bans and barriers the LGBTQ community faces. I am proud to count Jim Obergefell as a friend and am so proud of his work. But the truth is our LGBTQ brothers and sisters can get married on Sunday, and lose their jobs or their homes due to discrimination on Monday. We should celebrate today, and redouble our fight to ensure every American has true and full freedom and equality."
